About the role
A large, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Director of Grants to partner with senior leadership on grants administration, fiscal operations, and process improvement initiatives. Reporting to the CFO, this is a newly created role driven by organizational growth and increasing grant activity.
📍 Location: Hybrid, NYC (3 days/week in office)

Key Responsibilities:
Lead post-award grants administration, compliance, and expenditure tracking Monitor grant reporting deadlines, registrations, submissions, and funding requirements Review and approve budget modifications and grant-related financial transactions. Support accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls Drive process improvements across fiscal and grants functions Assist with capital grant monitoring and special financial reporting projects Participate in the organization's transition to Sage Intacct Provide oversight and guidance to a team of grants accounting professionals Ideal Background Strong post-award grants experience is required Experience managing complex funding sources including government grants, contracts, foundation funding, and restricted/unrestricted funds Proven project management and cross-functional leadership skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Why Consider This Opportunity?
