About the role
Alpha Gov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a Alpha Gov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, Alpha Gov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.
This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
Alpha Gov is seeking an Economic Impact Analyst to quantify industry, employment, fiscal, and regional effects for California cannabis and Washington cluster pursuits, with transparent methods and policy-ready findings for public-sector clients.
What you'll do:
Design and execute economic-impact analyses using input-output, regional, fiscal, labor-market, or comparable methods
Build reproducible models and document assumptions, data sources, limitations, and sensitivity scenarios
Analyze direct, indirect, and induced effects including output, employment, wages, tax, and industry impacts
Synthesize administrative, industry, labor, and market data into clear reports, exhibits, and presentations
Contribute economic-impact qualifications and past-performance narrative to Alpha Gov proposals when permissioned
Required:
Hands-on economic-impact assessment, regional economics, I-O modeling, fiscal analysis, or related applied-economics experience
Ability to produce reproducible methods, defensible assumptions, clear limitations, and policy-ready reports
Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites
Nice to have:
REMI, IMPLAN, RIMS II, or comparable modeling experience
California cannabis, regulated-industry, Washington regional, or cluster-analysis experience
Advanced degree in economics, public policy, regional science, or a related field
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
