About the Role: We're looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join a well-established internal medicine and pediatrics clinic. You'll keep the clinic running smoothly by supporting physicians and nursing staff, managing patient flow, and delivering quality care. If you're organized, compassionate, and always looking for ways to improve how things work, this is the job for you.
What You'll Do: Manage patient flow for provider and nursing appointments Gather records before each visit, including test results, consultation notes, and hospital notes Review and update medications and allergies, and record vitals in the EMRAnticipate provider needs and prepare for procedures such as GYN exams, joint injections, and wound care Perform clinical tests, including INR/HCT, O2 sat, PFM, UA dips, EKGs, and orthostatic vitals Give immunizations and medications and perform blood draws as directed, with EMR documentation Educate patients on follow-up care, referrals, and studies Process routine non-narcotic refills per the provider's plan and flag any discrepancies Relay test results after physician review and triage patient calls for provider review Clean and stock exam rooms in line with OSHA standards Support other clinical staff and take on special projects as needed
What You Bring: High school diploma required; some college preferred Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent medical training and experience Current BLS certification At least 2 years of experience in a medical office or related field Solid knowledge of medical terminology, common internal medicine conditions, and drug classes Hands-on skill with fingerstick testing (HCT/INR/BS), EKG, spirometry, phlebotomy, UA/HCG, PFM and nebulizer setup, and rapid flu/strep testing Tact, diplomacy, and clear communication with patients, families, providers, and coworkers The ability to prioritize and complete tasks on timeA genuine drive to learn and retain procedures and office policiesA caring, professional demeanor at all times Benefits 401(k) after one year of employment 3 weeks of flextime Health care stipend
