Job Description: We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Rail Processing Operator to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This position operates equipment used to process steel rails, including a plasma cutting torch, overhead rail bender, overhead crane, and steel banding equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working around heavy steel and industrial equipment, and looking to build manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities: Operate a plasma cutting torch to split steel rails according to work orders and specifications. Set up and operate an overhead rail bender to straighten processed steel rails. Operate an overhead crane to position and move rails throughout the work area. Bundle and secure finished steel rails using steel banding equipment. Inspect rails for quality, straightness, and proper specifications. Perform basic equipment checks and routine maintenance. Report equipment or production issues promptly. Read and follow work orders and basic measurements. Complete required production records and documentation. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet production goals.
