Materials Engineering Technician
Job Location: Waterloo, IA 50704 (100% Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift (Mon-Fri)
Duration: 24-month contract (with possible extension)
Pay: $30/hr. - $34.00/hr. on W2 (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Description:
Major Purpose: Support materials engineering and laboratory testing tasks, including complex analysis, with limited engineering supervision
Major Duties:
Prepare and analyze material samples, parts, and processes. Perform laboratory testing and support Materials Engineering work requests. Troubleshoot lab equipment and process issues with production and maintenance teams. Maintain lab equipment, supplies, consumables, and coolant levels. Support process improvements, quality checks, audits, and changeovers. Create and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, and records.
Job Requirements:
2-year associate technical degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in process control and analytical analysis. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with a shop floor or laboratory environment. Understanding of part prints, process instructions, and industry standards. Basic knowledge of ferrous machining and materials analysis.
