Role Description:
The Senior Director – Credit and Funding is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA, responsible for leading credit strategy, underwriting activities, and funding operations. This role oversees the evaluation of credit risk for small and mid-sized business clients, sets credit policies, and ensures consistent application across the portfolio. The Senior Director will guide sales in structuring deals, reviewing credit applications, bank statements and financial statements, and making sound credit decisions aligned with company risk appetite. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating transactions in the credit and funding departments, communicating with bank/lender partnerships and sales teams, managing funding pipelines, oversee CRM Management, monitoring portfolio performance and regulatory compliance. The role also involves collaborating with sales and operations to improve approval processes, refine lending products, and maintain a client-centric approach to credit and funding decisions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ Years experience in Equipment Leasing and/or Working Capital in a credit and/or funding role Strong credit and underwriting skills, with experience assessing risk for small and mid-sized business lending.
- Solid finance and accounting knowledge, including financial statement analysis and cash flow evaluation.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, CBA) are a plus.
- Experience with lending technology platforms, loan management systems, and regulatory requirements relevant to business financing.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks

- Ability to work independently and takes initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (G Suite is a plus)
