The Role: We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Materials Manager to lead materials planning, logistics, and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for leading all materials, packaging, and logistics operations to ensure seamless production support and customer fulfillment. It oversees a cross-functional team, driving performance in inventory management, production scheduling, supplier coordination, and transportation. The position ensures system accuracy, maintains inventory integrity, and aligns material flow with customer demand while minimizing cost. Additionally, it plays a key role in developing team capability, improving processes, and delivering against key operational metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do: Lead and develop a cross-functional materials team, including Assistant Material Managers, Logistics Specialists, Coordinators, and Planners Establish and maintain standardized systems and processes to ensure accurate, timely reporting and data integrity Partner with manufacturing and customers to align production schedules, transportation, and inventory levels to meet demand Ensure receiving processes and system transactions are accurate to protect inventory integrity and system reliability Drive team performance through coaching, development, and ongoing evaluation to meet current and future business needs Manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance, accountability, and alignment to operational objectives Oversee end-to-end material flow, ensuring timely procurement of production and service components Monitor inventory health, cycle counts, and accuracy to consistently meet company targets Evaluate equipment and service capabilities to ensure alignment with production volumes and operational demands Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives across materials, logistics, and packaging functions Establish and track key operating indicators (KOIs), driving accountability to achieve business goals Oversee packaging and logistics strategies, including premium freight reduction, routing optimization, and customer compliance (CLIPS)Maintain and optimize PFEP (Plan for Every Part), ensuring effective Min/Max inventory levels across all locations Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company standards and operational requirements Promote a safe work environment by adhering to and reinforcing emergency and safety protocols Support additional business needs and initiatives as required by leadership
Who You Are: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.5 to 10 years of experience in materials management within the automotive manufacturing industry. Proven experience leading and developing supply chain, materials, or logistics teams. Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and related supply chain technologies. Experience managing supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and cost metrics. Advanced analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive operational improvements. Health, Safety, Physical &
Travel Requirements: Normal office and plant mobility required. Up to 10% travel including occasional overnight travel. Valid driver's license required.
