About the role

The Senior Technical Lead will support NG 9-1-1 migration planning and execution activities and provide technical leadership across stakeholder organizations, vendors, and PSAPs. The role focuses on migration readiness, testing, operational transition, and technical program coordination. Responsibilities: Coordinate NG 9-1-1 migration and pre-migration activities. Facilitate technical meetings among Cal OES, PSAPs, network service providers, and vendors. Support migration testing, validation, and cutover planning. Identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges. Develop technical recommendations and solution strategies. Maintain NG 9-1-1 system documentation and reference architecture. Support operational readiness assessments. Contribute to statewide 9-1-1 strategic planning efforts. Provide technical status reporting and executive-level updates. Required Skills: Minimum 7+ years of telecommunications, networking, or IT infrastructure experience. Experience supporting large-scale technology deployments. Knowledge of NG 9-1-1, E911, ESInet, GIS, SIP, VoIP, or emergency communications technologies. Experience leading technical teams and stakeholder engagements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills: Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) experience. State or local government experience. NG 9-1-1 migration project experience.
