We are seeking an experienced UL 891 Low Voltage Switchgear Designer / Technician to join our team at our brand-new facility in Flower Mound, TX.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing operation from the beginning and build your career with a company that offers long-term growth and advancement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience with UL 891 switchgear, switchboards, control panels, electrical drawings, and power distribution equipment. Candidates with strong electrical design, drafting, switchgear, switchboard, or electrical manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and modify UL 891 low-voltage switchgear and switchboard systems based on customer and project requirements.
Create and update electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, elevations, layouts, and production drawings.
Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and project
designs and drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable standards.
Select and specify electrical components including circuit breakers, relays, transformers, bus systems, and related electrical components.
Assist with project submittals and technical
technical support to manufacturing, assembly, testing, quality, sales, and installation teams.
Troubleshoot design or production issues and recommend solutions.
Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment is built according to approved drawings and
accurate documentation and make revisions as required.
Stay current with applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry practices.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with UL 891 switchgear, switchboards, or preferred electrical distribution equipment.
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Knowledge of low-voltage power distribution systems and electrical components.
Experience with control panels, switchboards, switchgear, or electrical assemblies.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and design-related issues.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a production environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, production, quality, and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing or modifying UL 891 switchgear.
AutoCAD experience.
SolidWorks or other 3D CAD experience.
Knowledge of NEC, UL, ANSI, and NFPA standards.
Experience with electrical BOMs, production drawings, and project submittals.
Electrical, mechanical, or engineering education or equivalent hands-on experience.
