About the role
Overview
As Director, Marketing you will shape the vision and strategy for a leading consumer brand portfolio, driving sustainable growth and profitability. You will lead a brand team and partner across Sales, Insights, R&D, Operations, Finance and agencies to execute a cohesive plan. This role combines entrepreneurial thinking with strategic discipline to build brands, expand margins, and deliver impactful marketing across channels. You will operate with a GM mindset to influence business decisions and accelerate brand health.
Responsibilities Develop and implement long-term brand strategy and annual operating plan to drive growth, market share, and brand health Own the brand P&L and deliver top-line and bottom-line commitments, proactively addressing key performance drivers Partner with Brand Experience to design and optimize integrated campaigns across digital, social, commerce, and traditional media Translate consumer, category, and competitive insights into clear strategies, positioning, and actions Collaborate with Innovation and R&D to build a multi-year innovation pipeline aligned to brand strategy Lead innovation launch strategy and commercial execution delivering expected consumer, customer, and financial results Work with Sales to create channel and customer strategies that grow the brand and category; represent the brand in customer meetings to influence plans Identify and realize margin expansion opportunities through portfolio optimization, cost reduction, value engineering, and supply chain partnerships while protecting the consumer experience Build strong, collaborative relationships across a matrixed organization balancing brand, BU, and company priorities Coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering strategic clarity, creativity, inclusion, collaboration, accountability, and speed to action
Key requirements Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred 10+ years in brand marketing, with strong CPG experience; food, beverage, or pet experience preferred Proven track record delivering top-line growth via demand creation, brand building, innovation, and strong execution Experience developing long-term strategy and annual business plans for large, established brands Demonstrated P&L ownership, large marketing budgets, and ability to make trade-offs for profitable growth Strong financial acumen including pricing, trade, commodities, operations, supply chain, and demand generation Proven ability to build, inspire, and motivate high-performing teams Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to influence across levels and functions Highly collaborative with ability to align cross-functional teams and external partners Willingness to travel ~20% within the United StatescollaborationleadershipcommunicationP&L managementmarketing budget managementintegrated marketing campaigns
