About the role

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Baltimore, Maryland. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and renovation projects. This individual will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients throughout the preconstruction process to ensure successful project bidding and execution.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop accurate project cost estimates. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals. Prepare budgets, conceptual estimates, GMPs, and competitive bid packages. Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and subcontractor scope reviews. Review project plans to identify risks, constructability concerns, and cost impacts. Develop scopes of work and bid comparison analyses. Maintain and update estimate databases, historical cost information, and pricing resources. Collaborate with Project Managers during preconstruction and project turnover. Assist in contract negotiations and procurement activities as needed. Prepare proposal submissions and supporting documentation for clients and owners. Track bid results and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred. Minimum 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction. Experience estimating projects ranging from $500K to $20M+.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Experience working with subcontractors across multiple trades. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
