Compliance AVP – Private Funds / AML & KYCAbout the RoleA leading alternative investment platform is seeking a Compliance Assistant Vice President to join its Regulatory & Compliance team. This role will focus heavily on investor AML/KYC review and approval, with an emphasis on private funds and alternative investments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience reviewing private fund investors, resolving AML/KYC screening issues, and partnering with Legal, Compliance, and business teams on regulatory requirements and new initiatives.
What You’ll Do: Review and approve investor AML/KYC documentation for private fund investors and clients Conduct ongoing monitoring of investor activity, communications, and quarterly reporting Perform third-party reliance testing and monitoring Conduct AML screening reviews, investigate potential matches, and document dispositions Partner with business lines on new products and initiatives, providing practical compliance guidance Support Legal & Compliance teams on regulatory and compliance-related projects Assist with regulatory inquiries, audits, and information requests Help develop and improve compliance processes, controls, and workflows What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in alternatives, private funds, asset management, or related financial services Experience across a broker-dealer and/or registered investment adviser environment preferred Strong understanding of AML/KYC requirements for private fund investors Knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and Securities Act of 1933 Familiarity with Cayman Islands AML regulations Experience resolving AML/KYC screening alerts using platforms such as World-Check, Lexis Nexis, Comply Advantage, or similar tools Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with internal stakeholders and business partners Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment Strong project management, process development, and organizational skillsACAMS certification preferredJD a plus
