Summary: The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable department's operations. This role ensures that the company's accounts payable processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company policies and accounting regulations. The Accounts Payable Manager will supervise staff, manage workflows, and ensure the timely and accurate processing of payments. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient accounts payable operations. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments. Ensure proper accounts payable procedures are followed and any discrepancies are resolved quickly. Ensure proper controls are in place within accounts payable processes. Supervise, train, and mentor the accounts payable team. Conduct performance reviews and provide guidance to improve team productivity and accuracy. Generate regular and ad hoc accounts payable reports. Work with the accounting team to ensure alignment between accounts payable and financial records. Review vendor complaints or concerns related to payment disputes. Maintain checklists ensuring all payments are entered timely (i.e. utilities, rent, services) Maintain good standing with vendors to prevent on-hold situations. Quickly research and respond appropriately when such situations may occur. Analyze and recommend improvements to the accounts payable process to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement new accounts payable systems, tools, and software as needed to improve operations. Assist with audits related to accounts payable and expenses. Work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of accounts payable.
Education and Experience:
  • 2-4 year college degree or certification or combination of education and experience.3+ years in accounts payable.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable systems and accounting software, experience in ViewPoint is preferred.
  • Experience with internal controls around Accounts Payable Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
