About the Role:
The Company is seeking an Assistant Chief of Operations and Training to serve as a key leader in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and running the Agency's Ongoing Training and Education Program in collaboration with the Medical Program Director. This includes serving as the Agency's Volunteer Coordinator, ensuring that all personnel, including volunteers, are up to date on training and recertification requirements, and organizing training with agency partners. The role also involves assisting in directing operations in the field during major incidents, participating in the formulation of labor relations policy, and filling in for the Chief Administrator when directed. The Assistant Chief will be expected to maintain a positive relationship with the community, work dynamically with other leaders, and reflect well on the agency with partners and the public. Applicants for this position at The Company should have a minimum of 3 years' in a management position, experience in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers, and a strong background in emergency medical services. The role requires a current Washington State Paramedic certification with at least 5 years' of ALS 911 transport experience, as well as various other certifications and training. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of EMS principles, local medical protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings. Responsibilities also include overseeing the agency's volunteer program, maintaining volunteer rosters and records, and serving as the primary point of contact for volunteer-related matters. The Assistant Chief will be expected to lead volunteer recruitment, conduct performance evaluations, and manage volunteer lieutenant officers.
