About the role

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Mining & Mineral Processing
Location: Denver, CO We are supporting a growing engineering company within the mining and mineral processing sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to its project execution team. This is a hands-on engineering position offering responsibility across the full project lifecycle, from mechanical design and equipment selection through fabrication, installation and commissioning. The successful candidate will work across both established engineering solutions and the continued development and commercialisation of innovative mineral processing technology.
The Role: Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take technical responsibility for the design and successful delivery of mechanical systems used within demanding mining and mineral processing environments.
Responsibilities will include: Lead mechanical engineering activities across mineral processing and industrial projects. Design and review mechanical systems incorporating pumps, piping, tanks, process equipment and supporting structures. Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing and technical design reviews. Develop practical engineering solutions with consideration for fabrication, installation, reliability and maintainability. Prepare and review equipment specifications, drawings and vendor documentation. Coordinate with equipment suppliers, fabricators, contractors and EPC partners. Support construction, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities at customer sites. Work closely with engineering and technology teams to translate concepts into robust, field-ready systems. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers. Contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices as the organization continues to grow.
Candidate Profile: We are interested in speaking with experienced mechanical engineers from mining, mineral processing, EPC/EPCM or other heavy industrial environments. Ideally, you will bring: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Significant experience delivering mechanical engineering projects within heavy industry. Experience with equipment such as pumps, slurry systems, tanks, piping, filtration, thickeners or other mineral processing equipment. Strong understanding of mechanical design, equipment selection and engineering calculations. Experience taking projects from design through procurement, fabrication and construction. Exposure to field installation, commissioning and troubleshooting. Ability to coordinate effectively across mechanical, structural, process and other engineering disciplines. Experience working directly with vendors, fabricators and contractors. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly desirable. Mining or mineral processing experience would be particularly advantageous.
The Opportunity: This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering organization where you can have significant ownership of the engineering rather than being responsible for only one small element of a much larger project. You will work on technically challenging mineral processing applications, have visibility across the complete project lifecycle and play an important role in the continued development of the company's engineering capability.
Location: Denver, Colorado
Travel: Some travel to project and customer sites will be required.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
