OrganizationA privately held real estate investment, development, and advisory firm is seeking a talented Development Associate / Assistant Vice President to join its growing team in New York City. The firm specializes in complex urban development, repositioning, value-add, and opportunistic real estate investments across multiple asset classes. With a significant active development pipeline, the organization is involved in projects requiring sophisticated deal structuring, public-private partnerships, entitlement strategies, and large-scale project execution. Role This is a highly visible opportunity to work closely with senior leadership within a lean and entrepreneurial organization. The successful candidate will participate in every stage of the real estate development lifecycle, including: Acquisitions and Transaction Execution Financial modeling and underwriting Financing and capital raising support Due diligence and feasibility analysis Design management and predevelopment Entitlements, zoning, and permitting Construction oversight and project delivery Stakeholder and partner management The position offers broad exposure across both the investment and operational aspects of development and is ideal for a professional seeking significant responsibility and career growth. Candidate The ideal candidate will possess: Approximately 3 to 8+ years of experience in real estate development, acquisitions, development management, or a related field Exposure to multiple phases of the development process, from acquisition through construction and stabilization Strong financial modeling and real estate underwriting skills Advanced Excel proficiency Excellent organizational and project management capabilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentA proactive, hands-on, and entrepreneurial mindset
