About the role
- Install and configure VoIP hardware, including phones, analog gateways, paging systems, and door phones
- Run, terminate, and test structured Ethernet cabling
- Install or reconfigure routers, firewalls, and network peripherals
- Install camera systems
- Troubleshoot networked office equipment such as printers, scanners, DVRs, and cameras
- Train new customers on their products and services so they're confident from day one
- Document your work clearly, including any outstanding items, so nothing falls through the cracks
- Manage equipment inventory using our inventory management software
- Keep your company vehicle clean and well-maintained, and follow all safety guidelines and company policies
- What You Bring 3+ years of experience as a field service technician serving commercial customers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and network configuration
- Experience with ISP circuits and modems (Cable, DSL, T1, FiOS, etc.)Structured cabling experience: running CAT5e, terminating to jacks and patch panels, crimping ends, and testing and troubleshooting cable runs
- Experience working with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocks
- Ability to follow detailed installation documentation
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first presence
- Organized, self-sufficient, and comfortable working with little or no supervision
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no moving violations
- Technical training or a related degree
- Experience with Mikrotik and Cisco routing and switching equipment
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, A+, or BICSIRequirementsWhat The Job Involves
- Daily travel to customer sites, with some overnight and weekend travel
- Climbing ladders up to 12 feet, pulling and routing cable, and lifting or moving equipment weighing 10 to 50 pounds
- Working outdoors and adapting to changing site conditions
- Identifying color-coded wiring and cable pairs
- Obtaining a security license for camera system installations, if required
