About the role
At Resort Lifestyle Communities, we're looking for an Accountant to join our Team at our Corporate Office in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a family-owned company with more than 60 Independent Senior Living communities across the country, we are committed to creating exceptional experiences for our residents and team members alike.
As an Accountant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of multiple communities through account reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounts payable processes. This position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team while developing expertise across a variety of accounting functions.
What You'll Do:
Community Accounting
Reconcile prospect and resident accounts, including monthly rent roll reviews and check request processing.
Prepare, analyze, and complete month-end financial statements for assigned communities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
Maintain accurate financial records and support ongoing community accounting functions.
Accounts Payable
Review and approve invoice, expense, and credit card transaction coding for accuracy and compliance.
Assist with data integration and entry processes to ensure complete financial records and timely vendor payments.
Respond to vendor and community manager inquiries and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
Account Reconciliation & Analysis
Perform bank reconciliations and analyze general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Support expense allocations, deposits, recurring journal entries, and other accounting processes as assigned.
Assist with account reconciliations and financial analysis to maintain accurate reporting.
Compliance & Continuous Development
Support the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn new accounting processes and cross-train across additional accounting functions.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Technology & Systems
Utilize accounting and business software to effectively manage daily responsibilities, including Event 1, Sage 300 (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Cost, Contracts, Billing, and Cash Management), Avid Xchange, Concur, and Timber Scan.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software including spreadsheets and word documents.
Service oriented, with ability to communicate respectfully, compassionately and effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively and to learn quickly with little supervision.
