About the role
- Repairs, installs, maintains, calibrates, and inspects a variety of complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
- Diagnoses and corrects system and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
- Schedules and monitors third-party repair as necessary.
- Provides technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to EvergreenHealth staff as needed.
- Provides basic skill training and mentorship to Level I technicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- License, Certification, Education or Experience: REQUIRED for the position:
- Associate's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Clinical equipment technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the biomedical engineering service industry
- Experience with Factory or Third-party training on complex medical devices
- Experience with or ability to help train or be a technical subject matter expert for BMET I's on complex medical systems
- Knowledge of and ability to use various hand tools and test equipment.
- Ability to understand and use equipment technical manuals.
- Ability to work on complex medical equipment including life support devicesDESIRED for the position:
- Certification by AAMI as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician
