About the role

Captain Compliance is a fast-growing privacy technology company helping organizations manage privacy compliance, reduce regulatory risk, and respond to the growing wave of privacy litigation. Our platform helps companies operationalize privacy requirements, manage consumer consent choices, and scale their privacy programs across complex regulatory environments. As we grow, we are looking for experienced privacy professionals who want to join the mission of building a leading company in privacy technology. We are looking for missionaries, not mercenaries: people who believe in what we are building, want to help shape the future of privacy technology, and are excited to grow with the company. This is a full-time role that can be remote or based at our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The Field Chief Privacy Officer & Privacy Counsel will work directly with clients, product teams, and leadership on privacy law, technical implementation, and enterprise privacy programs. The role will work closely with Captain Compliance's product and engineering teams, test new product capabilities, support enterprise implementations, participate in client meetings, and when needed represent Captain Compliance at conferences, webinars, and industry events. We are looking for someone who understands both privacy law and how privacy technology works in practice, including cookies, pixels, consent management, Google Tag Manager, advertising technologies, and website data flows.
Qualifications: JD or equivalent legal qualification and admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. Strong knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws and regulatory frameworks. Experience drafting and reviewing privacy policies, cookie disclosures, consent language, and related privacy documentation. Experience designing, implementing, or advising on privacy programs and governance frameworks. Strong understanding of data subject rights, consent management, data protection, and privacy risk. Ability to identify and analyze privacy issues across legal, technical, and business environments. Experience in a senior privacy, legal, or compliance role. Technical understanding of cookies, pixels, tracking technologies, consent management platforms, and website data flows. Google Tag Manager experience strongly preferred. IAPP certification such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT, or active IAPP membership, required. Strong client-facing, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with legal, engineering, product, sales, and enterprise customer teams. Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
