About the role
- Operate injection molding machine, ensuring the smooth and efficient production of simple polymer components.
- Review job orders and simple blueprints to understand molding requirements.
- Set up molds, adjust parameters, and monitor production, maintaining optimal operating conditions for the machinery.
- Cycle molding machine and monitor its progress while performing secondary operations such as deflashing, inspection, visual and mechanical application of lubricating grease, and packaging of finished product.
- Inspect finished products for defects, following quality assurance guidelines and escalating quality issues when needed.
- Use hand tools like files, hammer, scrapper, air nozzle to blow off excess and clean molds, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
- Apply silicone mold release with a brush to ensure things don't stick, facilitating efficient production processes.
- Perform sandblasting operations as required.
- Document completed jobs, ensuring accuracy and prompt reporting of issues.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- What you'll Need To Succeed:1+ year of machine operation experience in a production environment.
- High School/GED diploma required.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
- Basic knowledge of machine controls and programs.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments. Able to escalate and explain issues to team leads and supervisors as needed.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
- Good critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems and understand efforts to improve processes.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to complete precise tasks and follow instructions accurately.
