About the role
- Manage purchasing activities for assigned commodities and product categories
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with major vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, freight, lead times, and other purchasing agreements
- Support pricing strategies and help identify opportunities to improve margins
- Analyze vendor pricing, purchasing trends, and market conditions
- Source products and evaluate new vendor opportunities
- Manage purchase orders and monitor vendor performance
- Ensure product availability while balancing inventory levels and purchasing costs
- Partner with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and market demand
- Work closely with other Buyers to coordinate purchasing activities
- Assist with inventory planning, replenishment, and forecasting
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Resolve vendor issues involving pricing, delivery, quality, and product availability
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and information within the company's systems
- Participate in strategic purchasing initiatives and special projects
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities as the organization continues to grow Qualifications
