About the role
- Coordinate ocean and air import shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Monitor shipment milestones and provide proactive status updates to customers and internal teams.
- Communicate with overseas agents regarding shipment arrangements, documentation, and exceptions.
- Assist with arranging trucking, warehousing, and final-mile delivery services.
- Support customs brokers by providing the information and documentation required for customs clearance.
- Review shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, for accuracy and completeness.
- Track cargo movements and help resolve transportation delays, delivery exceptions, and operational issues.
- Prepare shipment files and ensure all documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- Verify freight costs, vendor invoices, and customer billing information.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and prepare reports for management as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries, assist with delivery scheduling, and provide timely problem resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, carrier requirements, and applicable international shipping regulations.

- Experience with or willingness to learn:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft TeamsUNIX w/Internal legacy TMS system
- Carrier and airline tracking portals
- Steamship line websites
- Airline and container terminal websites
- Online shipment and cargo tracking systems
- Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Previous experience or knowledge of ocean and/or air freight forwarding operations preferred.
- Understanding of general international import procedures preferred.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
