About the role
Director Business DevelopmentAbout the CompanyMultisite provider of outpatient interventional radiolgy services.IndustryHospital & Health CareTypePrivately HeldEmployees11-50About the RoleWe're looking for a relationship-driven business development professional to grow physician referral volume for our outpatient interventional radiology (IR) facilities across Southern California. This is a field-based role focused on educating community physicians about our services, building durable referral relationships, and serving as the connective tissue between referring practices and our clinical teams. The role is based in Los Angeles with regular travel throughout the Southern California region (e.g., LA, Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego). Job Activities You'll spend the majority of your time in the field calling on primary care physicians, urologists, oncologists, vascular surgeons, podiatrists, nephrologists, and other specialists whose patients could benefit from our outpatient IR procedures (e.g., Y-90 therapy, uterine fibroid embolization, PAD/vascular interventions, and a range of other procedures). You'll build and maintain a territory call plan across your Southern California coverage area, track referral patterns, and identify growth opportunities within existing and prospective accounts. Day to day, this means scheduling and conducting in-office visits with physicians and their staff, presenting clinical and service-line information in a way that's relevant to each practice, and following up consistently to keep relationships warm. You'll work closely with our physicians and clinical staff to ensure referring providers and their patients have a smooth, well-communicated experience — that includes troubleshooting referral or scheduling friction when it comes up. You'll also represent the practice at local medical society events, CME dinners, and community health functions to expand visibility and your professional network throughout the region. You will be supported in your efforts by our founder MD's and our marketing efforts. Internally, you'll track call activity and referral trends in a CRM, report on territory performance, and collaborate with leadership on outreach strategy, including identifying underpenetrated specialties or geographies within Southern California and adjusting your approach accordingly. You will work with our marketing resources to refine messaging and marketing strategy required to enhance effectiveness. In addition to your core responsibilities you will support the executive team on larger, strategic business development initiatives with health plans, IPA's, health systems and hospitals. Job Requirements • A few years of business experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare services sales or business development • Bachelor's degree (required) • A track record of building and sustaining referral relationships with physicians and office staff • Comfort with consultative, relationship-based selling rather than transactional sales • Strong organizational skills and self-discipline to manage an independent, multi-region field territory • Working knowledge of healthcare referral patterns and basic clinical terminology; familiarity with vascular or interventional procedures is a plus (training will be provided) • Excellent verbal communication and the ability to build rapport quickly with physicians, nurses, and office managers • Proficiency with CRM tools for activity tracking and reporting • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout Southern California, • Based in or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $120,000 with a targeted compensation of $150,000-$200,000 based on performance. A bonus plan will be developed that is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements. Employee will be eligible for all company benefits including health, vision and dental insurance and 401-k plan.Team Size20FunctionsBusiness DevelopmentSkillsBusiness Development requiredHealthcare required
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
