Role
Water/Wastewater Design Engineer
Locations: Newport News, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Jacksonville, FL; Hampstead, NC
Status: Regular Full-Time
Responsibilities
Support the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, storage systems, pipelines, and related utility improvements
Prepare or oversee engineering reports, technical specifications, construction drawings, and cost estimates
Manage projects through design and provide support during bidding and construction phases
Support the coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams
Support permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal water and wastewater projects
Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and business development efforts
Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
2-10 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering design, preferably in a consulting environment
Strong experience with municipal water and wastewater systems design
Proven ability to prepare plans, specifications, engineering reports, and design calculations
Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively
