About Green Our Planet Organics Green Our Planet is a Las Vegas-based nonprofit that has built over 400 school gardens across Clark County. Green Our Planet Organics is our commercial urban farming arm, operating out of our production facility in Las Vegas. We grow and sell premium organic herbs, vegetables, and specialty produce to local restaurants, institutions, and the community - with 25% of all produce sales going directly back into funding school garden programs. We are looking for an exceptional Production Farm Manager to lead and operate our production facility from the ground up, someone who is equal parts scientist, farmer, operations manager, and quality control director.
The Role:
This is not a single-focus growing position. Our Production Farm Manager owns the full operation, from the health of every plant to the efficiency of the facility to the consistency of supply to our partners depend on. You will be responsible for growing, production management, facility operations, food safety, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Growing & Crop Management Manage all aspects of daily hydroponic crop production across multiple growing systems Develop and maintain crop schedules that ensure consistent weekly harvests for restaurant supply Monitor and manage nutrient solutions, pH levels, electrical conductivity (EC), and water quality Diagnose and treat plant health issues including nutrient deficiencies, pests, and disease Operate and optimize SANANBIO vertical growing units and LED lighting systems Select and source premium heirloom and specialty seed stock for maximum flavor and yield Manage climate control, humidity, CO2 levels, and environmental monitoring systems Production & Facility Operations Oversee all production planning, scheduling, and yield tracking to meet delivery commitments Maintain the facility to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety Manage fertigation systems, irrigation infrastructure, and all mechanical growing equipment Implement and maintain GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) protocols throughout the facility Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations applicable to commercial produce operations Track production data, yield metrics, and input costs to maximize efficiency and profitability Manage inventory of growing supplies, nutrients, seeds, and packaging materials Team & Client Relations Hire, train, and manage facility staff and growing assistants as the operation scales Build and maintain strong relationships with restaurant partners and institutional buyers Communicate proactively with clients about availability, custom grow requests, and delivery schedules Collaborate with Green Our Planet Organics leadership on new product development and revenue growth
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), Agricultural Science, Food Science, or related field - preferred Master's degree in any of the above - preferred Experience Minimum 5 years of commercial-scale hydroponic production experience - required Proven experience managing a high-volume indoor growing facility with yield targets and commercial delivery commitments Hands-on experience with multiple hydroponic systems - NFT, DWC, vertical towers, flood and drain, and/or aeroponic systems Experience with SANANBIO vertical growing units and LED lighting systems - highly preferred Demonstrated expertise in nutrient management, fertigation systems, and environmental controls Experience supplying produce to restaurants, food distributors, or institutional buyers Previous team management or supervisory experience in a production environment
Certifications:
Serv Safe Food Handler Certification - preferredGAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Certification or experience operating under GAP standards - required Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) - preferred Certified Horticulturist (CH) - preferredOSHA 10 or 30 - preferred Organic Certification experience (USDA NOP) - a plus
