About the role

We are partnering with a growing organization in the healthcare marketing and data space to hire a Director of Strategic Development. This role is focused on generating new business, building relationships with prospective clients, and identifying opportunities to provide solutions based on their marketing, data, and business needs.The ideal candidate has a strong background in B2B sales and business development within the healthcare industry and genuinely enjoys developing new business. This person should be comfortable picking up the phone, prospecting and developing new relationships, understanding a client's needs, and managing the sales process from initial outreach through close.Healthcare sales experience is important, but it does not need to come from one specific area of the industry. Experience selling into pharmaceutical/life sciences, hospitals and health systems, healthcare marketing, medical education, healthcare recruitment, or other areas of healthcare will be considered.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and company-provided leadsBuild and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clientsUnderstand client goals, challenges, and business needs to recommend appropriate solutionsManage the full sales process from initial outreach and discovery through proposal and closeDevelop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customersConduct client meetings, presentations, and product/service discussionsMeet or exceed established sales and revenue goalsIdentify opportunities to expand relationships with existing customersCollaborate with internal teams to develop solutions that meet client needsMaintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline within the CRMStay informed on industry trends, market developments, and competitive activityAttend industry events, conferences, and trade shows as neededQualifications5+ years of B2B sales or business development experiencePrevious experience selling within the healthcare industryProven ability to generate new business and develop client relationshipsStrong prospecting and outbound sales skillsExperience managing the full sales cycle from initial outreach through closeConsultative sales approach with the ability to understand client needs and recommend solutionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a competitive sales environmentStrong organizational and time-management skillsExperience working with a CRM
