About the role

Position Summary: The Assistant Director, Creative Services will produce high-impact video, photo, and digital content designed to enhance recruiting, fan engagement, brand growth, and the student-athlete experience across multiple platforms. Working collaboratively within the Creative Services team and alongside coaches, administrators, and external relations staff, this role will contribute to the overall creative direction and day-to-day content strategy of Rice Athletics. This is a full-time, on-campus role requiring flexibility with scheduling and travel during competitive seasons. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change. *Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, graphic design, marketing, public relations, or a related field 1+ years of relevant professional experience Skills: Strong experience in video and photo production for digital platforms Experience managing social media platforms or digital content calendars Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required Must be able to travel with teams on occastion Must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Preferences: Working knowledge of graphic design and visual layout Prior experience supervising professional staff, student employees, or entry-level creatives Familiarity with collegiate athletics or sports production environments Experience with motion graphics and advanced post-production workflows is a plus Essential Functions: Serve as the primary creative lead for assigned sport(s) Manage and execute social media content, including planning, scheduling, and real-time coverage Support content creation and social media management for assigned sports Create highlights, features, promotional edits, and recruiting-related content throughout the year Travel fully on occasion with assigned sports Collaborate with other departments within Athletics to meet day-to-day content needs Support department-wide initiatives, photoshoots, and events Rice University HR | Benefits: https://knowledgecafe.rice.edu/benefits Rice Mission and Values: Mission and Values | Rice University Rice University is committed to ensuring Equal Employment Opportunity and welcoming the fullness of diversity into our candidate pools.
