Excellent benefits, annual bonus, leadership development
We are a large, privately held beverage manufacturing and distribution organization with operations across multiple U.S. markets. Our business combines high-volume manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and distribution, creating a complex, fast-paced operating environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leader who has experience with a busy, multi-shift operation with a sizable frontline workforce.
The right person will be comfortable moving between the plant floor, warehouse, leadership meetings, and regulatory requirements—someone who can identify risk, develop practical solutions, and get people at every level of the organization engaged in safety.
Salary:
$115,000 - $145,000 per year
This is a highly visible role working directly with facility and operational leadership. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the site's EHS strategy, influence how work gets done, and build programs that protect employees while supporting a high-performing operation.
What You’ll Own
Lead the site's Environmental, Health & Safety strategy across manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and fleet operations.
Partner with operational leaders to reduce workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, environmental risk, and overall EHS exposure.
Serve as a key resource for OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Lead facility audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives.
Manage environmental programs involving wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, ammonia, asbestos, waste management, and resource conservation.
Analyze safety trends, leading indicators, scorecards, and operational data to identify risks before they become incidents.
Develop practical mitigation and contingency plans for identified operational and environmental risks.
Work directly with employees and leadership to strengthen safety awareness, accountability, and engagement throughout the operation.
Develop and deliver EHS training for frontline employees, supervisors, managers, and facility leadership.
Support workers' compensation, injury management, and return-to-work initiatives.
Coordinate environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and interactions with government agencies.
Lead emergency preparedness, response planning, and crisis-management activities.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that make the operation safer, more compliant, and more effective.
What We’re Looking For:
6+ years of progressive EHS experience within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, food & beverage, or another complex industrial environment.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Risk Management, or a related discipline preferred.
Candidates without a bachelor's degree may be considered with 9+ years of directly related EHS experience.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, environmental compliance, and industrial safety programs.
Hands-on experience with audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action programs.
Experience managing environmental compliance programs such as wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, waste, or air/environmental permitting.
Ability to translate regulations and technical requirements into practical solutions that work in an operating environment.
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively from the production floor through senior leadership.
Experience developing and delivering safety training and building employee engagement around EHS initiatives.
Strong analytical skills and experience using EHS metrics, dashboards, and scorecards to drive improvement.
Ability to travel up to 5%.
