About the Role:
We are seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to join our clinical research department. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating clinical research visits and ensuring studies are conducted in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines, IRB requirements, and study protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for a research professional who enjoys working directly with patients, physicians, clinical teams, and pharmaceutical sponsors and is interested in developing expertise within ophthalmology and retina research. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and a strong team player.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate day-to-day clinical trial activities and patient research visits.
Review and understand study protocols, timelines, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and study-specific procedures.
Screen and recruit potential research participants and support enrollment goals.
Conduct and participate in the informed consent process and ensure appropriate documentation.
Perform protocol-specific clinical research procedures, which may include scribing, visual field testing, VFQ questionnaires, IOP measurements, and other study assessments.
Maintain accurate source documentation and study files.
Enter and maintain clinical trial data in electronic data capture (EDC) systems and resolve data queries within required timelines.
Identify, document, and report adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs), and other required safety information.
Maintain regulatory documentation, including protocols, investigator brochures, IRB documentation, CVs, training records, and investigator disclosures.
Ensure study staff training is completed and appropriately documented.
Coordinate sponsor/CRO monitoring visits and assist with site visit preparation and follow-up.
Work collaboratively with physicians, research staff, clinical teams, business office staff, and pharmaceutical sponsor representatives.
Maintain adequate study supplies and assist with study logistics.
Participate in investigator meetings, study teleconferences, and other research-related activities as needed.
Ensure clinical trials are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of clinical research experience OR CRCC/CCRP certification.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ophthalmology or retina clinical research.
Retinal photography experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with ophthalmic equipment and/or clinical trial procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to write and document accurately.
Ability to hold arms at shoulder height.
Ability to communicate effectively by telephone.
Manual dexterity to operate ophthalmic equipment.
