Director of Solutions EngineeringLocation: Remote in San Francisco Bay AreaSalary: Up to $290k base plus variable (people are earning $500k in these roles)Benefits: Large amount of equity, 401k, health insuranceI'm working with one of the most disruptive vendors in the Identity & Fraud space. They are well backed, growing a lot and on track to IPO in the next 2 years. Their Solutions Engineering function is one of the most strategic areas of the business and where a lot of their growth is coming from.They are looking for a player coach with strong Identity & Fraud background to help to build a new team in their pre-sales function, design a playbook and use cases and build a team underneath yourself. The other people in the function are achieving 200% of their number at the moment and are able to take home over $500m.They already have a large amount of customers across the industry - some big names like Coinbase, Uber, Tether, many major banks and so on.Responsibilities:Set the direction and priorities for the Solutions Engineering function, ensuring the team is aligned with wider commercial and product objectives.Lead, coach and develop a team of experienced Solutions Engineers, creating a high-performance environment with clear expectations and opportunities for progression.Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering and senior leadership to shape technical strategy and ensure customers receive the right support throughout complex enterprise sales cycles.Provide hands-on leadership across the organisation's largest and most strategic customer opportunities, helping the team navigate complex technical and commercial requirements.Build and continuously improve Solutions Engineering processes, playbooks and best practices to increase consistency, efficiency and effectiveness as the organisation scales.Establish meaningful performance measures and use data to understand team effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and support better decision-making.Own both the longer-term development of the Solutions Engineering organisation and the day-to-day execution of the team, ensuring resources are aligned with business priorities.Recruit, retain and develop high-calibre Solutions Engineering talent while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning and innovation.The ideal profile would have:Strong experience working with Identity & Fraud technologiesSomeone who has designed bespoke Identity & Fraud solutions to Fortune 500 customersSomeone that has built a team and function from scratchIdeally working within a consultancy firmSelf-starter attitudeWhat's in it for you:Working for a high-growth, disruptive market leader in the spaceBuilding a team and function from scratch in a well established companyWorking within a high-calibre team & high-achieving companyOpportunity to gain pre-IPO stocks turn into real money - on track to IPO!
