VP, Global Conferences & Events
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Salary: $150,000-$200,000 + bonus
Travel: Approximately 30%, including both domestic and international travel
Our client, a leading global alternative investment management firm, is seeking a senior Global Conferences & Events professional to join its growing client-focused organization. This is not a traditional events role. The position combines high-level event strategy, executive stakeholder management, and hands-on execution within a fast-paced financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities: Lead strategy and execution for large-scale global conferences, investor events, client summits, annual meetings, and other flagship programs. Manage complex events from concept through execution, including budgets, production, vendors, logistics, registration, and onsite delivery. Partner closely with senior executives and business leaders to translate business objectives into effective event strategies. Manage multiple high priority workstreams while anticipating risks, solving problems, and adapting quickly to changing needs. Build and improve processes across a growing global events function. Mentor junior team members and serve as a senior presence within the broader team.
Ideal Background:
  • 12+ years of relevant conferences/events experience, ideally within financial services or another highly sophisticated corporate environment. Experience managing complex, high-profile events with senior executive and client exposure.
  • Highly independent, strategic, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.
  • Strong critical thinker who can balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Cvent and Salesforce is a plus
  • Comfortable with approximately 30% domestic and international travel

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
