About the role

An established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Information Technology Lead to oversee day-to-day technology operations while helping shape the firm's long-term technology strategy. This is a highly visible leadership position that combines hands-on technical expertise, team leadership, cybersecurity, project management, and strategic planning. The IT Lead will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership while leading and developing the firm's IT team.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team while remaining actively involved in complex troubleshooting and technical initiatives. Oversee the reliability, performance, and security of the firm's technology environment, including Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, servers, networking, wireless systems, workstations, mobile devices, and document management systems. Lead cybersecurity initiatives involving endpoint protection, MFA, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and incident response. Manage firm-wide technology projects, including Microsoft 365 enhancements, cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, hardware refreshes, software implementations, and office technology initiatives. Help lead the firm's adoption and responsible use of AI technologies, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, research, communication, and workflow efficiency. Manage technology vendors, consultants, contracts, renewals, and service levels. Partner with leadership to translate business needs into practical technology solutions and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Oversee help desk operations and ensure a high level of service and timely issue resolution. Support professional services applications, including document management, practice management, billing, timekeeping, litigation support, and eDiscovery platforms. Assist with technology budgeting, planning, policies, and long-term IT strategy.
Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive IT experience with a combination of technical administration and leadership responsibilities. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and business applications. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical responsibilities. Experience leading technology projects from planning through implementation. Strong understanding of cybersecurity and information security best practices. Experience with AI technologies, implementation, and governance. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience within a professional services or legal environment is strongly preferred. Experience with Elite 3E, Intapp Time, iManage, and Litera is a plus.
The Opportunity: This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of technology operations while having a meaningful voice in the firm's future technology direction. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable working with executive leadership, developing an IT team, managing major initiatives, and rolling up their sleeves when a technical challenge requires hands-on involvement.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
