About the role

Job Description Job Description Freelance Creative Strategist / Copywriter
Role Summary: Big ideas. Sharp copy. Creative that moves. Alpha Lion is building a network of freelance Creative Strategists and Copywriters who know how to turn customer insight into performance creative that wins. You'll research audiences, uncover compelling angles, write scroll-stopping concepts and scripts, and use real results to make the next idea stronger. This is a remote freelance opportunity with the potential to grow into a longer-term or full-time role based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit. This posting supports an ongoing talent pool, so project timing and weekly hours may vary.
What You'll Do: Turn customer research, market signals, competitor activity, and performance data into original creative concepts. Develop sharp angles, hooks, scripts, briefs, and ad copy for paid-social creative. Build concepts around customer awareness, motivations, objections, and the language people actually use. Partner with editors, designers, creators, and media buyers to bring ideas from brief to finished asset. Review creative performance and explain why an ad won, lost, or deserves another iteration. Transform winning ideas into thoughtful new tests without simply producing surface-level variations. Manage your assignments independently, communicate clearly, and deliver polished work on schedule. Help Alpha Lion build a faster, smarter, more repeatable creative-testing engine.
What Success Looks Like: Your concepts are grounded in clear customer insight and a defensible testing hypothesis. Briefs and scripts reach production on time and require minimal clarification. Creative partners describe your direction and feedback as clear, decisive, and useful. Performance learnings consistently inform stronger concepts and iterations. You demonstrate the judgment, reliability, and results needed for expanded assignments or a potential full-time opportunity. What You Bring Demonstrated experience in DTC/eCommerce creative strategy, direct-response copywriting, or both. A portfolio featuring paid-social concepts, scripts, briefs, or copy that you personally helped create. A strong understanding of customer research, consumer psychology, awareness levels, hooks, angles, and creative testing. The ability to connect creative decisions to performance—not just personal taste. Experience collaborating with video editors, designers, creators, or media-buying teams. Clear written communication, dependable follow-through, and comfort working independently in a remote environment. Familiarity with Meta performance creative; experience with TikTok, YouTube, VSLs, UGC, health, wellness, supplements, or fitness is a plus. Openness to beginning with freelance assignments and, where there is mutual fit, exploring a longer-term or full-time opportunity.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
