MIM is a low-cost, high-volume manufacturing process producing parts to near net shape, reducing or eliminating the need for secondary and machining operations. 3DPM is cutting edge technology that can deliver concept to prototype in 2 weeks and deliver complex shapes that are not possible with machining, casting or molding. The Set-Up Technician I is responsible for set-up and operate molding equipment and machinery in the molding department following industry accepted best practices and company process set-up instructions.
Accountabilities: Set-up molding and automation equipment to best industry standards, with an emphasis on safety and housekeeping, and operate equipment to produce acceptable green MIM product as directed. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues for molding and automation Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seek corrective assistance when other than normal adjustments are required Assist production employees in the set-up and operation of workstations when required Assist in the set-up of first article molding jobs Look for new methods and techniques to improve processes and quality of products. Assist in development activities to establish methods to produce required finished parts within specification when instructed Perform barrel cleaning operations when changing material on molding machines Inspect machines for wear while disassembled for this operation Perform routine maintenance of equipment, including preventive maintenance and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work areas High school diploma or equivalent. Effective English language skills – both written and verbal 1+ year of experience in plastic and/or metal injection molding environment Minimum 1 year of mold machine set-up and maintenance experience
Pay Range: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
