Job Summary:
The HIM Analyst is responsible for validating, processing, and releasing copies of medical records for affiliated medical groups. This role ensures that all Release of Information (ROI) requests are processed accurately, securely, and within required timeframes while maintaining a high standard of customer service and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify the authenticity and completeness of medical record authorizations before processing. Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently. Retrieve, sort, stamp, and organize incoming mail and faxed documents for processing. Log all medical record releases in the ROI tracking system, including requester information, address, date sent, and documents released. Retrieve and process medical records in both electronic and printed formats.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Need either of these certification: RHIA OR RHIT.Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and critical thinking. Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment with frequent interruptions. Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills. Ability to manage a large volume of incoming calls throughout the shift. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
