- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment in the field
- Operate equipment to identify mechanical and performance issues
- Use computerized diagnostic software, including CAT ET and Cummins diagnostic platforms
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
- Diagnose electrical problems, wiring issues, sensors, and electronic controls
- Repair mechanical systems, driveline components, steering, and suspension systems
- Determine appropriate repair procedures and identify required replacement parts
- Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment to access failed components
- Inspect components for wear, damage, and potential reuse
- Repair, replace, clean, adjust, and lubricate components as necessary
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication when required
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and maintenance checklists
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation before returning it to service
- Operate and maintain an assigned field service truck
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records
- Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced technicians
- Communicate professionally with operators, customers, and operations teams
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Strong experience repairing heavy-duty, off-road equipment
- Extensive diesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills
- Strong electrical diagnostic capabilities
- Experience with computerized diagnostic systems such as CAT ET and Cummins INSITEKnowledge of driveline components, steering systems, and suspension systems
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Ability to read and understand service manuals and technical documentation
- Welding, cutting, and fabrication experience
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to obtain a CDL if required
- Willingness to travel as required for field service work
- Equipment Experience

- Off-road equipment
- Loaders, dozers, excavators, and similar machinery
- Industrial and material-handling equipmentCAT-powered equipment
