- Conduct on-site loss control surveys and underwriting evaluations to assess potential hazards for our policyholders and agency partners
- Conduct accident investigations
- Prepares loss control reports and sends recommendations to policyholders to help them improve potential risk factors
- A knowledge of workplace safety
- An understanding of nationally recognized standards and codes
- Develop, enhance and present training programs in the area of loss prevention
- Communicate loss prevention services available to policyholders and agency partners
- Will be responsible for mentoring loss prevention representatives in the department
- May act on behalf of the loss prevention supervisor in their absence
- May train other loss prevention representatives on conducting site evaluations, training, or other loss control services
- Knowledge, skills & abilities, experience, minimum & desired education, certification and/or license requirements.6+ years of experience in loss control including Industrial Hygiene
- Air sampling and noise monitoring experience
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented
- Excellent analytical and decision making skills
- Experience with laptop computers as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Safety experience is required
- Loss Control and Safety Experience in the Insurance Industry (Workers' Comp, Commercial Auto, Property and/or General Liability)
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferredOHST (Occupational Health and Safety) Certification PreferredARM (Associate in Risk Management) preferredASC (Advanced Safety Certification)
