Role Description:
The Carrier Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in River Grove, IL. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with carrier partners, negotiating rates, and securing capacity to meet customer shipping requirements. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing and onboarding new carriers, managing load tenders, tracking and tracing shipments, and resolving service issues to ensure on-time delivery. The Carrier Sales Representative will collaborate closely with internal operations and customer service teams, use transportation management systems and other tools to optimize routes and costs, and contribute to continuous process improvement. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to support both carrier partners and customers in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in carrier relationship management, rate negotiation, and capacity sourcing within the freight and logistics industry. Candidates should possess skills in transportation management systems, load planning, and shipment tracking and tracing. Candidates should possess skills in communication, customer service, and conflict resolution for working with carriers and internal teams. Candidates should possess skills in data analysis, basic reporting, and attention to detail for monitoring performance and margins. Candidates should possess skills in time management, organization, and multitasking to handle multiple shipments and priorities. Relevant experience in logistics, transportation, brokerage, or supply chain operations is highly beneficial. Knowledge of LTL, truckload, refrigerated freight, intermodal, and general freight terminology is preferred. Ability to work on-site in River Grove, IL and collaborate in a team-oriented, performance-driven environment. High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
