About the role

Co-Op WelderThe Co-Op Welder performs structural steel welding operations in accordance with approved welding procedures, shop drawings, and quality requirements. This position is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality welds while maintaining safety, productivity, and housekeeping standards. Daily Responsibilities Perform welding on structural steel components. Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and weld symbols. Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).Complete fit-up verification prior to welding. Perform basic equipment setup and maintenance. Maintain production quality and throughput standards. Follow all safety requirements and PPE guidelines.
Requirements: Must be enrolled in an approved PA Technical School Co-Op Program. Must be able to pass a 3G weld test with 1/16th flux core wire and have applicable experience with D1.1 codes and 2G/3G experience. Experience operating overhead cranes. Have a willingness to learn. Ability to interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
