Job Description: CNC Operator / Shop Helper — Sharp Dimension, Inc.
Location: Fremont, CA. START
Pay: $19.00/hr, DOESharp Dimension is a precision CNC machining shop specializing in tight-tolerance, complex work for the Aerospace, Semiconductor, and Defense industries. ISO 9001:2015 certified and ITAR registered. We're hiring for both CNC Operator and Shop Helper positions — experience level determines which role fits, and shop helpers with the right attitude and aptitude can grow into an operator role over time.
What You'll Do: CNC Operator: Operate CNC milling and/or turning equipment to print specifications Perform in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and gauges Complete job traveler documentation accurately Shop Helper: Support CNC operators and machinists with material handling, part staging, and basic deburring/cleanup Load/unload parts, fixtures, and tooling as directed Assist with in-process inspection and part sorting Help keep production moving between operations Both roles: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow safety procedures and report equipment issues to your supervisor Work cooperatively with the production team
What We're Looking For: CNC Operator:1+ year CNC machining experience preferred Ability to read basic engineering prints Familiarity with Fanuc controls a plus Shop Helper: No prior machining experience required — willingness to learn is key Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions closely Both roles: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage shifting priorities
