Job Title: Independent Sales Representative – Eastern Midwest (Commission-Based)
Company: Icebug USA, SPC
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099), Commission-Based
Location: Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois (Territory-Based)Commission-based independent sales rep role covering Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois for Icebug, a Swedish outdoor footwear brand established in the U.S. for over a decade. Real untapped territory, an established product line, and an invitation to our FW27 sales kickoff in Bellingham, WA this October.
Company Description: Icebug USA, SPC is part of a global footwear company founded in 2001 to inspire and enable people to be outdoors year-round with high-performance traction footwear. The brand focuses on creating products that provide reliable grip and stability in all conditions, helping customers move confidently and safely. Icebug has also committed to a second mission: leading the transformation toward a fully sustainable footwear industry, backed by B Corp certification and membership in the Fair Wear Foundation. We've been established in the U.S. for over a decade, and we're now expanding our independent sales rep network into key growth territories across North America — including the Eastern Midwest, which doesn't currently have local sales representation.
Role Description: The Independent Sales Representative – Eastern Midwest is a commission-based, independent contractor role responsible for driving sales growth for Icebug footwear across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Day-to-day activities include identifying and prospecting new retail and specialty accounts, nurturing existing relationships, and presenting product lines and seasonal assortments. The representative will conduct in-person and virtual meetings with buyers, manage the sales pipeline, negotiate orders, and provide ongoing account support. This role also involves coordinating with our internal team on inventory, marketing initiatives, and product feedback from the field, while maintaining accurate records of sales activities and regional performance. This is a territory with real untapped potential — a chance to build and grow it largely from the ground up, backed by an established brand and product line. Compensation is commission-based, so earning potential grows directly with the wholesale business you build. The successful candidate will also be invited to join us in person in Bellingham, WA this October to kick off the FW27 sell-in season alongside the rest of the sales team.
Qualifications: Strong sales and account management skills, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals within a defined territory Experience with relationship-building and client service, with the ability to maintain long-term partnerships and provide responsive support Knowledge of the outdoor, footwear, or sporting goods industry, with an understanding of retail dynamics and seasonal product cycles Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct persuasive product demos and line showings Self-directed work style, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities independently Comfort with digital tools for virtual meetings, reporting, and territory planning Availability to travel within the Eastern Midwest region for account visits, events, and trade shows as needed Previous experience as an independent sales representative or commission-based salesperson is highly beneficial Commitment to sustainability and enthusiasm for outdoor activities are strong assets To Apply Send a resume and a brief note about your background and existing retail relationships to recruitment@icebug.com.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
