About the role

Yard Equipment Operator The Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials using forklifts and/or other types of equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Essential Functions: Load, rig steel joists and/or girders on trailers as assigned. Assist with loading and unloading material in shop as needed. Assist with steel joist bundles and yard layout as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to safety protocols. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
Requirements: Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferred. Minimum of 6 months experience operating a forklift, preferred. Ability to pass internal forklift certification. Ability to read and understand loading requisitions.
Physical Demands: Frequent communication with others to exchange information. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly thinking and processing information. Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
Work Environment: Manufacturing floor with machinery. Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold. Use of personal protection equipment is required.
