Title: Business Development Lead
Location: Washington, DC Compensation: $140,000 - $165,000 + bonus Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire Our client, a rapidly growing advanced nuclear technology company, is seeking a Business Development Lead to help shape and expand its commercial strategy. This individual will analyze emerging market opportunities, build relationships across government and industry stakeholders, and collaborate closely with technical teams to position the organization for long-term growth. The role offers significant exposure to strategy, partnerships, and market development within one of the fastest-growing sectors in clean energy, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from an early stage. Within your first year, you will: Develop a strong understanding of industry operations, regulatory requirements, and key stakeholders. Build productive relationships across internal teams and external partners. Contribute valuable market insights that influence commercial strategy. Support the successful submission of multiple proposals and business opportunities. Demonstrate increasing ownership of customer engagement and opportunity development activities. Help expand the business development pipeline through proactive research and outreach. Become a trusted, detail-oriented contributor to the commercial team.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Energy, Science, or a related field.5+ years of experience in business development, sales support, commercial analysis, or a related function. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software applications. Experience within energy, transportation, logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other regulated industries. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, industrial operations, or technical service environments. Experience working with government entities, utilities, research institutions, or large industrial customers. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is a plus, but not required.
