Title: Anesthesia Technician II Location: Fountain Valley, California Department: Cardiac Surgery Status: Full Time Shift: Days (8 hour shifts) Pay Range*: $33.79/hr. - $49.00/hr.
Position Summary: This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. The Anesthesia Technician II is responsible for providing assistance to the Anesthesiologists in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direct supervision of an Anesthesiologist. Additional responsibilities includes but not limited to: assembly, set-up and troubleshooting of all anesthesia equipment including anesthesia machines and ventilators, stocking of anesthesia machines and carts with supplies needed for patient care. Provides assistance for routine and emergency services, to Anesthesiologists and licensed personnel, while working within the scope of practice. Maintains clinical equipment in the Anesthesia Department in working order, trouble shoots and communicates with service coordinators, bio-med, vendors and Anesthesiologists, regarding repairs and supplies. Provides In-servicing of the OR staff in the use of clinical equipment and status of equipment as necessary Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job 1. Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently assist the Anesthesiologist. 2. Ability to deliver safe patient care. 3. Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective critical thinking and prioritization skills. 4. Prioritizes essential functions. 5. Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical skills in the care and use of adjunct intubation equipment. 6. Contributes to an effective and safe working environment. 7. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial and other sensitive material in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of patients and or employees. 8. Demonstrates the ability to use the computer. 9. Demonstrates tact, sensitivity and composure under duress. 10. Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of job specific competencies. 11. Ability to be at work and be on time. 12. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives. 13. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner. 14. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Minimum Requirements: Qualifications/Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience required Completion of anesthesia tech (ASATT) program preferred Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred Proficient in medical terminology Education/Licensure/Certification: Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card preferred Current ASATT Certification required Primary Location: United States-California-Fountain Valley Work Locations: OCMMC-OCMMC Hospital 9920 Talbert Avenue Fountain Valley Fountain Valley 92708 Job: Technicians - Clinical Organization: Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center Schedule: Full-time Employee Status: Regular Job Level: Staff
