Laboratory Technician - Radiological Gas Analysis Onsite: Knoxville, TN

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our environmental and radiological testing team. In this role, you will operate specialized laboratory equipment, process environmental air samples, perform radiological analyses, and ensure accurate reporting of laboratory data. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical aptitude who enjoys working in a regulated laboratory environment focused on safety, quality, and scientific accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate laboratory processing equipment and follow established procedures to process environmental air samples. Perform gas separation and sample preparation across multiple laboratory sections. Analyze samples using specialized radiological counting and measurement instruments. Accurately document, calculate, and report testing results. Perform equipment calibrations and basic preventive maintenance. Communicate findings and technical data to laboratory management and staff. Monitor laboratory inventory and coordinate replenishment of supplies as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Follow all environmental, health, safety, and security procedures. Complete End-of-Day Safety and Security procedures. Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, initiative, and a commitment to quality in all assigned work. Required High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow detailed written procedures, technical manuals, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Vocational or Technical Certification in a scientific or technical field. Associate degree in a science-related discipline or completion of two years of college-level science coursework. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical production environment. Experience operating laboratory instrumentation, analytical equipment, or environmental testing systems.
