No weekends!We are looking for a Technical Writer to author technical content used to create & maintain client Operator Manuals. The successful candidate will become a product or systems subject matter expert with the product(s) they are working with by tracking engineering changes and collaborating with product design teams. The knowledge gained will be used to author content in the Operation Manuals and other technical documents used by our clients.Full-time, with daytime hours.Responsibilities:Research and track engineering changes on client products.Interact with design teams.Determine and document safe operation and maintenance processes for client products.Update and write product support literature.Responsible for maintaining and developing machinery Operation Manuals for construction & attachment equipment (i.e. skid-steer loaders, excavators, utility vehicles, attachments, etc.), and other products as needed.To update and write manuals it will require researching engineering data identifying changes related to the assigned product(s), photographing changes and differences on the equipment and relaying that information to the manual for editing.There will also be hands-on work with the equipment driving and operating, identifying how to operate the equipment (safely) and documenting those procedures for the manual(s), confirming and performing some preventative maintenance work (i.e. hydraulic oil changes, coolant replacement procedure, battery replacement, cab lifting procedures, transportation, etc).Responsible for inputting content into your own manuals with the selected publication software.Job Requirements: The successful candidates must have:Computer skillsMechanical knowledge and/or backgroundAbility to understand, document and communicate correct operation and preventative maintenance procedures.Organizational skillsAttention to detailTeamwork skillsThe successful candidate should be self-motivated.Competitive wages & benefit package, 401K, medical, life & disability insurance, vacation and holiday pay.
