LHH is partnering with a growing, well-capitalized commercial real estate bridge lender in NYC to find a sharp, driven Debt Underwriter ready to make a real impact. This isn't a seat where your work disappears into a massive credit committee. Our client runs a lean, entrepreneurial platform where underwriters work directly alongside senior leadership, see deals from first look through closing, and help shape the decisions that move capital. What You'll Do: Underwrite bridge loans across multifamily, mixed-use, office, retail, industrial, and transitional assets Build and maintain detailed cash flow models evaluating property performance, business plans, and exit strategies Analyze rent rolls, operating statements, market data, and sponsor financials to assess risk and value Prepare investment memos and present recommendations directly to senior leadership and credit committee Help structure loans, including sizing, pricing, reserves, and key terms Coordinate third-party reports (appraisals, environmental, property condition) and support deals through closing Monitor existing loans, tracking business plan execution and portfolio performance What You Bring 2+ years of CRE underwriting, lending, debt, or investment experience (bridge, balance sheet, CMBS, or debt fund background is a plus)Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; Argus experience is a plusA solid grasp of CRE valuation, loan structuring, and risk analysis Clear, confident writing and communication skills The drive to thrive in a fast-moving, hands-on environment Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Why This Role Stands Out High deal velocity and exposure to a wide range of asset types and business plans Direct access to senior decision-makers and a real voice in the investment processA clear path for growth in an expanding lending platform Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus In-office collaboration in New York City
