About the Opportunity: This opportunity is for experienced Financial Crime, AML, KYC, and Compliance professionals interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects focused on financial crime detection, customer due diligence, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring. The role involves completing realistic case exercises, reviewing financial crime scenarios, and evaluating AI-generated outputs that reflect real-world AML, KYC, fraud, and compliance workflows. You'll apply your expertise in financial crime investigations, onboarding reviews, sanctions compliance, transaction surveillance, and regulatory reporting to help improve the capabilities of next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities: Review and adjudicate transaction monitoring alerts using customer profiles, transaction histories, and supporting documentation. Draft SAR narratives and document investigation outcomes where appropriate. Evaluate KYC/CDD onboarding packets for completeness, inconsistencies, and remediation requirements. Analyze beneficial ownership structures and apply UBO ownership thresholds. Review and assess sanctions screening and adverse media alerts, determining whether cases should be cleared, escalated, or investigated further. Evaluate fraud, dispute, and transaction-surveillance scenarios and provide clear, defensible reasoning. Assess AI-generated financial crime analysis outputs and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crime, KYC/CDD, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Compliance, Fraud Investigations, or related areas. Experience working within banks, fintech companies, payment providers, money service businesses (MSBs), or similar financial institutions. Strong knowledge of FinCEN, FATF, OFAC, AML, KYC, CDD, and SAR documentation requirements. Ability to produce clear, accurate, and defensible written investigative findings. Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: CAMS (ACAMS), CFE, or similar compliance certifications. Experience with Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and complex entity ownership investigations. Familiarity with SQL, transaction analytics, or financial crime technology platforms. Experience in fintech, payments, digital banking, or high-growth financial services environments. Prior experience evaluating AI-generated compliance or risk-analysis content. Compensation Competitive compensation of $75–$100/hour. Weekly payments. Independent contractor engagement.
