Ciorba Group's Crown Point office is our gateway to the Indiana market, strategically positioned to serve INDOT, northwest Indiana counties, and communities along the Illinois-Indiana corridor. It's a growing practice with real runway, and the people here play an outsized role in shaping where it goes. Ciorba Group is an employee-owned (ESOP) engineering firm with offices in Chicago, Peoria, and Crown Point. We deliver roadway, structural, water resources, electrical and lighting, and construction engineering solutions for DOTs, counties, and municipalities across the Midwest. A Roadway Engineer III is a licensed professional who may work on several projects at one time. Tasks performed require broad knowledge of fundamentals relating to design and/or construction while under some direction, but no immediate supervision is needed. An Engineer III may be assigned to assist in developing preliminary engineering studies and reports, preparing design plans and specifications, and leading a field inspection.
Key Responsibilities: Make calculations and run models necessary to perform assignments in a format that can easily checked by others Maintain proper filing, calculations, documentation, and drawing conventions/standards as established by Ciorba Group Design work in Micro Station, Open Roads, and other software Mentor staff engineers
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from accredited school 5-8 years of roadway design experience Illinois PEProficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software Excellent organizational and time management abilities Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities Experience on Illinois DOT projects a plus Strong interpersonal and communication skills
